Halpern NHL Offensive Player of the Week

Caps forward Jeff Halpern was named NHL Offensive Player of the Week for the last week of the regular season. Well earned, even if it came against rather suspect teams, only one of which was really trying very hard to win (Boston). I was quite impressed with the way he put the team on his shoulders after the trades. He made the most of a rather ugly situation and I think showed some real leadership. He's definitely one of the positives to come out of this season, getting out of the offensive funk he was in under Butch and clearly taking over the central leadership role on the squad. A real positive heading into the future. Assuming there is one.
