The First Rule of Banjax

In case I've never outlined this before, or there are those out there who have forgotten, I feel that it is important to reiterate this rule. Mostly b/c LS and CZ (aka..."w*nker") have combined to violate it and good 'ol me is not happy this morning. So...without further delay...

THE FIRST RULE OF BANJAX

Thou shall not create work where work did not previously exist (and would not have existed if not for you).

Commentary: It's really a simple idea. Don't create work for me that didn't exist before you got involved. At work, this means don't try and "fix" something only to break it worse than it was when you got there, and only then decide to call me and ask for my advice/thoughts/help. Normally...by that time things are bad enough to have created net work. There may have been work for me there before, but now...now there's more work to do. More than there would have been. More than there should have been. *sigh*

Unfortunately, life doesn't really work out that way much of the time.

Side note: Slate has an interesting profile on the life of L. Ron Hubbard. Some fascinating reading if you're interested in the bizzaro-world of Scientology and it's adherents. I love the fact that just about everybody who comments on Katie Holmes refers to her "zombification" in some way shape or form. Delicious. :-)
