Ovi nabs rare double-award month

Good things keep coming for Washington Capitals rookie/stud/all-world talent/franchise player Alexander Ovechkin. The NHL named him both January's Rookie of the Month and Offensive Player of the Month. If you're keeping score at home, that's the first time the same player has been named to those two awards since 1995...when Caps goalie "He Who Shall Not Be Named" won the dual honor. The only other player was back in '93...when Teemu Selanne won it.

For the record...he was also December's rookie of the month. Sydney who??

Interesting tidbit from that article...apparently "The Goal" has been viewed on the Caps website over 150,000 times.
